Course Agenda
The following instruction will be provided to each student, and all hours are to be logged in the student driver’s logbook. Students will have a possible 57 hours between driving, backing, or proficiency during the 4 week course. The total possible hours will be 216. If a student reaches the required hours they will not be required to attend the extra classes.

The above hours are subject to adjustment from week to week due to vehicle availability or student performance, however, the minimum requirement for completion of the training program is as follows:
Classroom: 40 Hours
Street Driving: 18 Hours
Backing Maneuvers: 16 Hours
Proficiency Development: 16 Hours (Street Driving or Backing)
Lab/Range/Observation: 70 hours
Total Hours under Instruction: 160 Hours
Admission Requirements and Procedures
You must be 18 years of age
You must fill out a student application form
You must have a driving record for five years
You must have a valid drivers license
You must be able to pass the DOT physical and drug screen
You must have a GED or be able to pass an ability to benefit test.
Please contact the school to discuss your qualifications and how we may have an opportunity to serve you. A School Staff member will interview applicants for admission through a personal interview or, by telephone interview. During your interview a staff member will discuss the enrollment process and see if our program is right for you. They will provide information about the trucking industry, job placement assistance, the costs of the training and local assistance that may be available to qualified individuals. They will also provide a catalog and answer any questions you might have. We would like to make every effort to provide you with a realistic understanding of the nature of the trucking industry so that you can make an informed career choice. Applicants are encouraged to visit the school and inspect the equipment they will be using.

Hours of Operation
Stateline is open Monday thru Friday 7am to 4:30pm. Saturday classes from 7:00am until 4:30pm as needed to accommodate students with absences.
Owners Administration and Faculty Staff
Loyd Stephens is an Instructor, and the Owner of Stateline. He has over 20 years of Class A truck driving experience and 11 years of CDL teaching experience. George Rau is our Chief Instructor at Stateline. He has over 20 years tractor trailer experience. Melissa Stephens is in charge of Admissions and Record keeping. She has over 10 years experience in this position.

Facilities and Equipment
The classroom will seat up to 18 people and a vacant lot for range practice. The trucks are the same type used in the truck driving industry with trailers from 40 to 53 feet long. The student teacher ratio will be no more than one teacher and three students.
School Policies
Attendance is necessary to pass the program. Students must attend all 160 course hours to receive a Certificate of completion and obtain a CDL license. If a student is absent they must contact the trainer to set up a make up session. Students are expected to be on time to all scheduled classes. More than three unexcused absences may result in termination. Tardy more than four times may result in termination. All make up work must be scheduled with trainer. Absences may be excused by the director with prior notice from the student. Any student needing an extended leave of absence must get prior approval from the director. Students who were dropped because of poor progress throughout the course must meet with the director for prior approval.
Student Conduct
As part of the enrollment agreement students must follow school regulations. Violation of any of the following regulations could result in termination.
Any student terminated from the program may appeal in writing to the School Director.
Grading System
CDL Classroom Material - 50 pts.
Log Book - 50 pts.
Final Road Exam - 10 pts per section with a total of 100 pts.
100% - 90% = Excellent
89% - 80% = Above Average
79% - 70% = Average
69% - 60% = Below Average
Below 60% Fail
A Progress report will be given at the end of each week. Students must pass all CDL exams from the Department of Motor Vehicles and receive a 60% or higher in order to pass the program. Students must also pass the DOT Physical and Drug Screen. All graduates will receive a certificate of completion, grades and transcript.
Students who would like to obtain a copy of their academic transcript may do so by email, mail or simply calling the school. We maintain a copy of student transcripts for 50 years.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
A student may cancel enrollment by giving a written notice to the school. If notice occurs:
Within five business days of the date of enrollment, all tuition and registration fees paid shall be refunded; or
after five business days of the date of enrollment and prior to the start date of classes, the school may retain the published registration fee. Such fee shall not exceed 10 percent of the total tuition cost, or $100.00, whichever is less.
If the student or the school terminates training after the beginning of classes, unless the school has discontinued the program of instruction, the student is financially obligated to the school according to the following formulas or maximum charges:
If a student withdraws prior to completion of 50 percent of the contracted instructional program, the student shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the tuition. The following fee’s will be refunded to the client if the fee’s have not been incurred by Stateline: CDL Instructional Permit, CDL Issue Fee, Physical and Drugscreen, CDL Driving Exam, and DMV written Exams.
· If a student withdraws upon completion of 50 percent or more of the contracted instructional program, the student shall be obligated for the tuition charged for the entire instructional program and shall not be entitled to any refund;
· Pro rata refund means a refund of tuition paid for that portion of the program not offered to the student prior to withdrawal. The date for determining that portion shall be the published course schedule and the last recorded date of attendance by the student. All refunds will be prorated by the hour;

Job Placement Assistance
Stateline Trucking School will assist in job placement at no extra charge. STS has a large network of local and long haul employers. Students will be able to apply with trucking companies before starting the training. Companies will review the students driving record, work history, and criminal background. If the student meets the requirements of the employers, the employers will send a letter of intent to hire and the job will be arranged prior to the classes.
Student Grievance Policy
Students aggrieved by actions of Stateline Trucking School should attempt to resolve these problems with appropriate school officials. There will be no class on the following holidays New Years Day, Presidents Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanks Giving, and Christmas. Classes missed do to holidays will be made up on weekends as necessary.
